Finger jointed products are created from quality New Zealand pine from which defects, such as knots, have been removed. Finger joints are precisely cut into the pieces of timber, and each joint is then glued in place using glues that ensure the finished product meets New Zealand standards. The finish, strength and stability created is superior to that of the original timber.
Glued laminated timber, also called glulam, is a structural timber product comprising of a number of layers of timber bonded together with durable, moisture-resistant structural adhesives. Laminated timber is structurally consistent and more stable than conventional timber, making it ideal for structural posts and beams.
Preprimed products are machine coated on all faces with an alkyd true primer specially developed by Resene Paints. This revolutionary primer has greater weather and UV resistance and gives a genuine base ready for top coating.
All posts and beams can be supplied either preprimed or unprimed.
New Zealand-owned and operated, Niagara has been sawmilling since 1935 and has a proud reputation in the timber industry. All building and finishing products are backed by comprehensive warranties.
Timber must be treated to the particular hazard class specification to be used in an application where these hazard risks apply.
H3.1 For above ground applications you can rely on the new generation preservation system based on safe, organic and biodegradable active constituents to provide full 25-year protection from insects and decay. Unlike some systems, the LOSP system won’t leach out or cause the timber to swell. Twenty-five year warranty.*
H5 For below ground applications Niagara offers H5 (CCA) posts and beams. This treatment allows timber being inserted directly into the ground to meet building codes. Fifty-year warranty.
