Niagara operates from 3 sites across New Zealand; our main site in Kennington, Invercargill; secondary processing site in Winton, and our North Island distribution centre in Cambridge.
At Niagara, we combine sustainability and innovation to redefine the possibilities of timber. We offer a range of career opportunities across different areas, from production and dispatch to administration and leadership.
Whether you are just starting out or looking to advance your career, Niagara provides a supportive environment where you can grow, develop new skills and be a part of a team that values hard work, innovation and sustainability.

The sawmills at both Kennington and Craigpine in Winton use advanced scanning technology to maximise timber recovery and quality. Each log is scanned and cut to minimise waste and ensure we deliver high-quality product. The timber is then sorted, stacked, and carefully prepared for kiln drying. Our Machine Operators, Loader Operators, Forklift Drivers, and Saw Doctors keep the sawmills running smoothly during the week both on dayshift and nightshift.

Based in Kennington, the kiln complex uses the latest computer technology to carefully manage and monitor the timber drying process. A real-time system ensures that all regulatory and customer requirements are met, with moisture checks conducted on every batch. The kilns operate around the clock and our Kiln Operators and Machine Operators ensure optimal drying times and consistent quality before the timber moves to the next production stage.

Niagara’s remanufacturing plant, just across the river in Kennington, uses timber from the Sawmill to produce high-quality engineered timber products. The timber is first machined for a smooth finish, then scanned and sorted for finger jointing. The plant uses advanced jointers and moulders to create custom profiles, and the timber is treated for durability before being finished, painted and wrapped. Our plant operates almost 24/7 with Machine Operator/Labourers, Forklift Operators and Treatment Plant Operators working dayshifts, nightshifts and a weekend shift.

Our Electricians and Engineers have the very important job of maintaining all our machinery and equipment. As we continue to invest in innovative technologies, our Maintenance team commission our new plant and equipment, along with keeping the existing plant maintained.

Niagara’s Sales and Marketing team coordinate sales and exports across the world, primarily in Australia and NZ, and keep our website and printed collateral up to date with our latest products.

Niagara’s finished domestic products are distributed from centres in Kennington and Cambridge by our Dispatch Team Members. The Cambridge distribution centre handles product storage and dispatch to the North Island, while the Kennington centre focuses on the South Island.
